Poland Establishes Military AI Unit with €22M Budget
Poland’s Defense Ministry is creating a dedicated AI implementation center within its armed forces, backed by a 100 million złoty (€22M) investment. The unit aims to enhance military capabilities through AI-driven cyber defense, autonomous systems, and industry collaboration, aligning with a broader strategy to develop AI by 2039.
Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that “no army will function without AI in a few years”, stressing its critical role in modern warfare. The initiative follows Ukraine’s use of AI to track Russian forces, underscoring its growing importance in conflict scenarios.
